German War Graves Commission – visitor app
The German War Graves Commission oversees the memorial sites on behalf of the German government. It is responsible for the registration, maintenance and preservation of graves of German war dead abroad. Currently, the Commision is in charge of 832 war gravesites in 45 countries with about 2.7 million war dead.
In addition, the commission works in an advisory capacity on issues relating to the care of war graves and promotes the meeting of young people at the resting places of the dead. Today, the commission has around 350,000 active members and more than one million interested and occasional donors.
In close cooperation with the German War Graves Commission, we created the first digital cemeteries. At meanwhile 6 cemeteries visitors* can download the shoutr.App “Digital Cemetery” via a free shoutr.Boxx WLAN and get information about the battles of the 1st and 2nd World War.
On the site, special information is conveyed through GPS-assisted tracking, so that location-based multimedia content on individual fates enriches the tour. The shoutr.Boxx equips the site with the necessary network. With our shoutr.CMS the commission independently creates its own content, which is already available in 6 languages due to the shoutr.Multilingualfunction.
The German War Graves Commission continues to work on the expansion of the visitor guide, adding more and more war cemeteries.
