Inclusion and Accessibility at FOCUS 2017

FOCUS 2017 impressed with a breathtaking location. The Pauli Monastery, accommodator of the Archaeological Museum of Brandenburg, hosted the trade fair for museums from the 29th to the 31st of March. The theme was “Inclusion and Accessibility in the Museum”. In addition to the various exhibitors, the fair was accompanied by workshops and lectures. At our booth we showed the shoutr.System, which we have already installed in several museums. It enriches exhibition areas with a WLAN infrastructure. The visitors’ smart devices can be transformed into a multimedia guide via their own browser. Visitors had the possibility to try it on their own smartphone directly at our booth. Among other things you could see a 360° panoramic view of the Liebermann Villa at Wannsee. Through our shoutr.App it was possible to stream “Tristan”, the T. rex from the Museum für Naturkunde in Berlin, directly into the historical building.

Using multimedia for inclusion

At the cloister of the Pauli Monastery, we gave two lectures on our current projects. In “New Ways of Inclusion” we presented, with the support of Rainer Delgado, a concept for the Berlinische Galerie in cooperation with the German Association for Blind and Visually Impaired People. Sandra Köhler from the Liebermann-Villa at Wannsee visited us on Thursday. She presented with us the lecture on “Innovative Multimedia in the Museum” with the example of the Liebermann Villa.
